If I could I would | Mimbre Theatre | Tour

Bettina John developed the costume design and props for this physcial theatre piece full of acrobatic tricks and witty humour.

About the show

The piece involves three dancers playing several characters. The protagonist performed by Silvia Fratelli is an “ordinary” woman downtrodden by the everyday life. One day though things change and she resumes control over her life.

About the design

The design is kept mainly in grey, representing the everyday, whereas the slowly increasing red elements stand for empowerment.
The protagonist’s dress had to fulfil a lot of requirements besides the durability costumes for dance and acrobatics need to have: It had to change gradually from a basically grey dress to a completely red dress.
For the other two performers designer Bettina John developed costumes that can be changed in an instance allowing them to come in and out of a variety of characters throughout the play.
